   PhD. in Public Health and Preventive Medicine: Overview 

 


 

The leitmotif of the PhD. program in Public Health and Preventive Medicine is safeguarding  people's health and wellbeing both in the social and work environment. Thus, the overarching goal of this program is to provide graduate students with a wide knowledge of the  biomorphological, cellular, and  molecular mechanisms underlying human diseases , as well as the opportunity to acquire a diverse set of  organizational skills ranging from healthcare planning and research methodologies to  management of healthcare diagnostic and therapeutic activities. Moreover, students' training experience in diverse cultural areas will enable them to gain multidisciplinary insights in various public health issues to achieve a highly qualified doctoral training.

The research experience and skills acquired during the course of the 3-year PhD. program will be highly valuable for students aiming to pursue a career in biomedical research or in organizational set-up or management of healthcare facilities. Indeed,  upon completion  of the program, graduate students will have acquired the necessary skills to optimize not only healthcare resources but also to realize and distribute the "sanitary product" (process management, risk management, clinical governance, quality control , and distribution.
